Branded Jeans Shopping in KL – Reflection and Moving ahead….

Dear All,

Today was a rather mixed day for yours truly. It started out rather nightmarish for a daddy. Wife-y woke me up at 6-ish telling me that Faith has high fever. 39.7 Celcius to be exact.

After inserting the supository, we quickly bring her to the emergency room . Praise God after taking her medicine and sponging her, Faith ffever subsidedaand was ready to gai-gai by 2pm (go for walk walk).

So after a good healthy and hearty clear soup lunch at Ah Koong Fishball Noodles at Jalan Pudu (or is that Imbi?), we went to KLCC. I been wanting to get a pair of jeans for quite a few months now, but i just did not have the luxury of time to shop.

So I thought I must as well take advantage of this little quality time I have with the girls, Faith & Mummy. Adira was at Grannies because Kar Cheh already got a very mild fever yesterday, and just in case she caught the bug for her elder sister.

When we got to KLCC, i was rather dissapointed.

It was SALE season. Almost end of SALE season. That translate to NO MORE Size 34.

First stop, Boss. No have.

Second stop, Emporio Armarni. Tarak

Next stop my favourite Paul Smith, better luck elsewhere.

I almost gave up. Then I saw a familiar sign. REPLAY .

It must have been 10 years ago since I last bought a pair. The only Replay item in my cupboard is probably the overstrectched T-shirt with many holes for ventilation, that I still wear to sleep.

I somehow think that I have outgrown the brand. But what the heck, I am desperate.

With little hope I went straight to the sales manager and said, ” I need a pair of jeans. My only requirements are that my oversized butt does not look too oversized, and it has to be a certain shade of blue.”

She replied, “Errmmm…. but is normal price item ok?”

“Sure, I am a 34” thinking to myself my butt is really that OVERSIZED huh?

So the helpful sales personnel went about choosing about 4 pairs for me to try on. Yours truly, the Chinamen quickly inspect and was ok with the RM8++ price tag. Some may argue a hefty sum to pay for a pair of jeans, but this is my argument:

#1 A good pair of jeans is a good investment. You wear it to work and play.

#2 Branded goods also tend to last longer & assuming i can wear the jeans for 3 years , we are really paying 200+ a year.

So we are really talking about utility.I kid you not, i still wear my JPG (Jean Paul-Gaultier) T-shirt from my high school days.

So i tried on the 4 pairs, and the girls like the one which was my favourite as well.

And jeng jeng jeng, the pair is actually on discount!!!! 30% and it a Size 33. Hahahah talk about double happiness.

I know i know some of you may be dissing me about being a vain pot or trying to be a metrosexual and all, but hey I worked hard enough to deserve to feel good even if i dont actually look good.

The day ended rather nicely. A nice seafood & steamboat dinner with Shirlyn and my side of the family at my current favourite halal restaurant -the Crocodile Farm (next to holiday villa). Great food and nice view over the lake. Oh yah, the lady boss gave us a very nice complimentary fruit platter too. With mangoes some more. What else can i ask for?

So reflections I said? Yeah, just dont give up hope to early. We will never know where the good stuff will come from if we dont preservere. And moving ahead? Size 32 next year perhaps.

Wishing you a Happy New Year & may all your wishes come true!

Best regards,
KIDCHAN

  1. There’s this denim store at The Gardens, just next to isetan on ground floor. They got some pretty nice ones but for me, too expensive. like rm1100+. lol

  2. that’s a hefty sum to pay for a jeans i think. a levi’s can last quite long, though they are not my fav.
