19 Hours in Batu Pahat

I was in Batu Pahat over last Sunday for the wedding shoot of Syed Najmee & Izian. The drive there was otherwise smooth if not for some GENIUS who picked a long-weekend to repair the road. Senior photographer Jeff and I driving within SPEED LIMIT, reached Batu Pahat in 4 hours (normally 3.5max). Later we found out some guests took 8 hours to arrive (HORROR!!!).

waiting for the the new beginning

Many thanks to the bride & groom who has made sure that all our comfort was met by putting us up at the first (if not only) 4 star hotel The Katerina ?In Batu Pahat The hotel looks really good especially all the functions/ballroom (which share the same name with the Mandarin Oriental KL ballroom). However the hotel has a few kiasu/cost cutting practices like having nice chandelier but not turning it on?????

this is NOT Halim!!!

Apart from the great images that we came back with and the great hospitality of the bride/grooms? family , the the BIGGEST reward for us both was the HALIM Cendol. In my opinion, I NEVER had a better CENDOL in my life!!!!

The Lovely bride & groom with their family

I am definitely looking forward to returning to Batu Pahat this December for the wedding of Suresh and Sharon!

  1. oOoOooOo why no try the nasi beryani?? it’s opposite southern hospital, standard jatuh sikit (like all places when they get too popular) but it’s still v. good. look out for gerai 14, mat shah

  3. Hi Kid,

I think hor,the best cendol is the mamak one near the market, sumwhere near Jalan Penggaram. Suanie, Im sure you know this place! I think it has been featured on MediaCorp’s Channel 5 before. Yalah, Katerina memang kiasu/kiam siap la. I even have to do my own deco for the ballroom in December! Unheard of!
