TEAM KIDCHAN is honoured to be invited as event photographer for The Laureus World Sports Awards.The Laureus World Sports Awards is an annual award ceremony honoring remarkable individuals from the world of sports along with their greatest sporting achievements throughout the year.
The Laureus World Sports Awards is widely considered as the “Oscars” of sports. The Laureus statuette that received by winners are crafted by Cartier, with its representation of the striving human form against an engraved representation of the continents. The 2014 Edition of Laureus World Sports Awards is held at our very own Istana Budaya, Titiwangsa.
The star-studded event saw the world greatest gathering of sporting heroes and legends in Malaysia including Sebastian Coe, Edwin Moses,legendary footballer Sir Bobby Charlton, Johan Cruyff, Eric Cantona, Ruud Gullit, Nakata, Legendary Skateboarding Champion Tony Hawk , Mark Spitz & even Hollywod Star Jamie Foxx . Also in attendance are Malaysia’s greatest sports stars, seven-time world squash champion Datuk Nicol David and badminton world No.1 Datuk Lee Chong Wei and his wife Datin Wong Mew Choo.
The top prizes at the Laureus World Sport Awards was picked up by Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel and American swimming superstar Missy Franklin.

British actor Benedict Cumberbatch, best known for playing the detective Sherlock Holmes in the popular television series, hosted the awards ceremony, while actor and singer-songwriter Jamie Foxx, an Oscar and Grammy winner, performed at the event last week. The show started with a tribute to the passengers of flight MH370 and a moving speech from Malaysia’s Prime Minister Najib Razak. And also they paid tribute to Laureus Patron Nelson Mandela and the journey he took to change the world through sport.
