We been Paps (Paparazzi-ed)!
Dear All,
According to Wikipedia, Paparazzi is a plural term (paparazzo being the singular form)[1][2] for photographers who take candid photographs of celebrities, usually by relentlessly shadowing them in their public and private activities. Celebrities claiming to have been hounded by such photographers often use "paparazzi" and even "stalkarazzi" as a derogative term. News agencies commonly use the word in a broader sense to describe all photographers who take pictures of famous people.
And currently this is my favorite photography pose ala stalked by paparazzi:

Before I begin, let me get the following message our of the way:
NO Pictures from Maya Karin & Steven Shorthose Wedding in Bellagio
'I will not be posting any pictures of the wedding of my dear friends Maya Karin & Steven Shorthose @ Muhammad Ali in Bellagio Italy on the 14 August 2008. So please stop asking. Some of you may have previewed the images in the local press already. Like the following print screen.
I am slightly disappointed that some of the local press have conveniently left out credit mention to KIDCHANSTUDIO.
Talking about press, I was very honored to be featured on the center spread of the Sun in an article entitled Nuggets of Wisdom.
I was so humbled to be featured along the who' who of Malaysia.They were namely Malaysia's world class fashion designer -Zang Toi (whom I was recently priviledged to meet when i photographing his niece's wedding), my client Fione Tam of Eonet (she was interviewed for How to be a millionaire), friend and MD of Shoes shoes shoes- Ung Yiu Lin, Multi award winning movie director Yasmin Ahmad, actress Sharifah Aleya Syed Zainal Rashid and Director of the Centre for public policy studies Tricia Yeoh
With that out of the way, let me tell you about my day. A long and fruitful one that will probably end with this posting at around 4+ am.
The day began with a meeting with a client who is keen on bringing me to Kerala, India for their Malayalee Wedding Ceremony. Kerala also nicknamed as God's Own country is indeed a dream for yours truly.
Lunch with Chan Boon Yong at the the C. Club
Then I quickly dashed off to the exquisite C Club at the Pavillion to have lunch with Mr. Chan Boon Yong, the managing director of The Carat Club. Dining with the owner of the joint is quite an experience. He know exactly what to order!
Our first course was the the Honey Roasted Pumpkin Salad. Definitely one of the best salad that I have in KL. Roasted Pumpkin & my favorite rocket leaves just can't go wrong!
Then for starters, Boon Yong order the scallop foie gras. Scallop sandwiched with foie gras on pickled pumpkin, need i say more??????
Next we had half a dozen of live OYSTER to share. I stand to be corrected, but I think C. Club may be the only joint in Kuala Lumpur to have LIVE osyters. So this is as FRESH as it Gets!
TRIVIA TIME: How do you know when an oyster is live?
Answer: When you squeeze a lemon the edge of the meat shrinks.
For mains, we did the Asian thing. We ordered a Duck Confit and a Seared Cod fillet to share!
I was very impressed with the seared Cod. The Cod was very fresh and was served on aglio olio fettucini, poached asparagus, mushrooms and corainder niso hollandaise. Take my word for it. I know when the COD is fresh. It is Faith's favourite fish and we have it at least twice a week.
However I was truly was amazed with the Duck confit. The moisture of the duck was well maintained and was cooked to perfection.
The generous yet sexy looking portion left me no room for dessert. After a quick tour of the 8,000 sq ft C. Club and shown the truly impressive cellar, i quickly bid my gracious host goodbye as I needed to be at my next engagement at Kuala Lumpur Tower.

Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics Seminar 2008

TEAM KIDCHAN was engaged by Siemens to provide our Instantprintz services. Apart from event photography, we also set up a on location studion to create portraits for the Healthcare Diagnostics Seminar participants. With our Instantprintz solution, participants are able to collect the portraits within minutes of their photography session.

Right after that, I dashed off to a local 5 star hotel to help a former schoolmate shoot a special video for her daddy's birthday. The video was directed by a very famous actress. this is all i can say. Otherwise i need to kill you OR i risked getting kill myself for exposing the secret.
After that I went home for a quick shower and began downloading 32 megabyte worth of mails that required my attention. I KNOW. Time for a blackberry! I have enough of people asking for my PIN anyway. So i am just waiting to see if i should hang on to the bold.
With my mails out of the way, I wrote my article for Malaysian Today. What's it about? Stay tune!
Ok. Time for bed. Early meeting at 8 tomorrow plus a very long long day:)

I can't belief this place. I arrive at 5 something plus am and the Duty Free was packed. Geez do they sleep?

080808 Day of Many Celebrations!

080808 was a day of many celebrations. The event that hogged all the limelight was of course the Beijing Olyimpics 2008. On much smaller scale but no less grandeur, there were many couples who chose this auspicious date to tie the knot. Among them were:
Tamara Lim & Mark Yeo at the St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Kuala Lumpur
Before God
Tamara & Mark attends the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. The wedding ceremony was well attended by the member of the church. The beautiful ceremony was followed by a lovely garden wedding reception at Carcosa Sri Negara.
A fine wine afficianiado, the father of the bride arrange a mind boggling wine list. The list includes all the 6 First growths namely the Château Latour 1999, Château Lafite Rothschild 1999, Château Margaux 1999, Château Haut-Brion 1999 & Mouton Rothschild 1999.
Guest was also treated to the very rare and elusive Domaine de la Romanee-Conti Echezeaux ,Grands-Échézeaux & Romanée-Saint-Vivant. Some of the VIP was overhead to reschedule their afternoon meeting upon seeing the impressive winelist. That was seriously another AMAZING reason to celebrate:)

Tunku Adrinna (more affectionately calledKuhaz) & Ariff Riza 'selamat diijabulkan' (safely married) at the bride's parent residence. We were engaged by the Kuhaz by the recommendation of her dad, Istana Menanti Chief Of Protocol YM Tengku Azman Tengku Borhan.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Watchmaking Week in Malaysia
Dear All,
Jaeger-LeCoultre (pronounced as yay ger le coo chure) , a pioneer inventor and innovator of fine and complicated watches recently commemorated its 175th anniversary with the "Watchmaking Week" in Kuala Lumpur in Pavilion.
TEAM KIDCHAN was honoured to be the Official photographer of this Haute Holorogie event. The weeklong celebration was open by Xavier Dufoix, Managing Director of Jaeger-LeCoultre South East Asia.

I was among many privileged Malaysian to have a taste of the SIHH Exhibition in Geneva (minus the cost of the air ticket), as the weeklong celebration included very enlightening programs such as the Gem-setting Class, Master Class and Atmos Demonstration. I took the opportunity to get many of my “dummy too shy to ask question” answered.

We had so many couples and fun today. Many couples took advantage and sign up our ridiculously attractive packages that was up to 50% off!

Some took the FREE makeover trial by resident make-up artist Kim. Although it was open to both SEX, strangely they were only female takers.

Janice was a little toddler when i first know her. She was maybe 2.5 feet tall then. She is my classmate's little sister, and is now all grown up and ready to be married.
