Canon Expo & Meeting Simon Yam!
Dear All,
Hong Kong Superstar Simon Yam was in Kuala Lumpur to launch the Canon Expo 2007 that is happening from the 23 October to 25 October at KL Convention Centre (Hall 2).
Amongst the highlights of the expo are the various Canon prototypes from the 30s to the 70s that will be displayed. There will also be many fun filled games and informative demonstrations of Canon products. There is also plenty of pretty models for photographers to test their cameras on:)

Later , Simon rushed to officiate the opening of the new Canon boutique at the swanky Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. After the launch, this blogger was also invited to the press conference.

At the press conference, Simon impressed the Media with his knowledge of Bahasa Malaysia. He also demonstrated the use of the following phrases to the applauds of the Media:
"mau fo-to" - Want a picture!
"tak mau fo-to"- Dont want picture!
"khu-rang Marn-neez" - Less sweet!
Simon went on to explain that his knowledge of the language is accumulated over his long standing relationship with Malaysia, specifically Canon Marketing Malaysia. 11 years to be exact, and he described the relationship as a long and blissful honeymoon.
He proved the point that he is not just lip servicing by opting to come to Malaysia, instead of walking the red carpet at the Tokyo Film Festival along with his co-stars and directors of TriAngle (currently playing in the local cinema).

Hearing Simon talk, is truly a humbling experience. He is truly successful , known for being family focused yet he is extremely down-to-earth and friendly.
It really reminded me of our popular Malay saying, " Seperti buah padi makin berisi makin rebah" loosely translated to just like the padi fruit, as it gain more weight it bows lower.

An Update on Photo Imaging X-change
Today I received a very good news! My accommodation for being a speaker of Photo Imaging X-change at Suntec City, Nov 1-4 organized by Koelnmesse ( the same organizers of Photokina) has been ungraded to the Raffles the Plaza Singapore !!!!
I am very looking forward to it and please do visit the fair, as this is one of the biggest photography trade show and convention in Asia Pacific! So don't miss it!

Greetings! It is so funny that i still receive calls asking me if i Do any commercial photography? OF COURSE!
I first went for my training in a commercial studio. It's just that our weddings tends to be so high profile that it always overshadow our commercial job+ which magazine or newspaper would featured what commercial photography job we done?

Just the last two months,KIDCHANSTUDIO been commission as commercial photographers for a few of the international and local "BIG & SERIOUS" organisations. Exclusive Preview of the William baume Collection

Last week together with NTV7's Breakfast Show and another local publication, this blog - A Diary of a Wedding Photographer In Malaysia was given an exclusive preview of Baume & Mercier's William Baume Collection ahead of it's official launch in Malaysia.

For the benefit of those who are not acquainted with the heritage of Baume & Mercier, Baume & Mercier is Geneva's top luxury watch maker since 1830, with now over 177 years of watch making experience.
Their designs have been sought after by many international A-lister including Gary Sinise, Kiefer Sutherland , Kim Basinger & Meg Ryan.
The William Baume Collection, pays tribute to the horological genius of William Baume, the contemporary Brand Father, who helped contruct the international reputation of one of Switzerland's oldest watchmaking house.

We had the opportunity to preview 2 of the four models in the collection. They were the Classima Executives Red Gold. Both are limited edition watches. Only 177 pieces each (signifying the longetivity of Baume & Mercier) is going to be made.
It will also have William Baume Collection engraved on it's case. The Classima Executive Steel and Hampton Square Steel will have 1830 pieces worldwide.
Classima Executives Red Gold (Black Dial)
Both Classima Executives Red Gold watches come with Retrograde Date, weekday indication and power reserves function.At first I was not impress with the black dial Classima Executives Red Gold , as I am the Mr.-I-hate-anything-gold.
But when was asked to try it on, I felt gaga over it. It's as if the watch was made for my wrist!!! I am serious. Please help me convince Shirlyn! Sheila Ningkan deary speculated that because my skin was fair?????
Expected to be priced at the region of RM38,000 and above, I am thinking there goes AT LEAST one year of my salary. But I think I have work out a better plan.
