I lust of a CANON PIXMA PRO9500 Printer...

Dear All,

Recently wife-y Shirlyn told me that we needed an extra printer for our private use in office. Having been very satisfied with my Canon S600 printer, I was glad when I was invited to Canon's launch of their new printers at the Hilton Kuala Lumpur last week.

I thought i might as well kill two birds with one stones, because at functions such as this i normally get to touch base with fellow photographers and more importantly to check out a new printer for the office. As I have anticipated, when i got to the venue met one of my most admired photographer Philip Chong who asked me about my up-coming talk in the Photo Imaging X-Change talk in Singapore this November.

After we exchange some updates, we parted ways and i was really looking forward to preview the printers. Since I am only looking at a document printer, my search is probably over here (at least that is what i thought).

But lo and behold after the speech by Canon's President and Ceo Mr. Liew Sip Chon, Canon did not launch 1 or 2 but 13 amazing printers!!!!

And after a interesting (which IMHO is quite a feat to pull for being able to make a 13 printer briefing interesting:) ) and informative briefing by Canon's Assistant Director of Consumer Imaging & Information Division Mr. Calvyn Lang, I was stumped for choice.

They are all exceptional printers which seems like I need them all. But the most impressive of them all was the CANON PIXMA PRO9500 Printer!

PIXMA Pro9500 is a professional printer that prints up to 13"x19" using pigment ink that will create long lasting prints that can resist damaging effect of lights up to 1oo years. More impressive is that it's 10-color pigment ink system includes that include gray, photo black and matte black cartridges that will promised an amazing monochrome images.

The best part is with a printer that promises to deliver such great performance, it's normally not to pretty to look at. I was very impress that CANON PIXMA PRO9500 Printer is actually quite ergonomic and NOT very space consuming measuring only 26.0"(W) x 13.9"(D).

However, I have not done any test prints on it yet. Once i do, you be sure that you will be among the first to know!Will also update you on which model, Shirlyn and I eventually go for.

So stay tune k, while i finish up my wedding photography article for Essenze magazine, dubbed as the Tatler/prestige of Penang!
